Have sat on a committee to clean up the Debary Bayou that was chaired by
Congressman John Mica.
Have sat in on a committee and work shops for the commuter rail station
on the commuter rail station on Ft. Florida Rd. in DeBary.
10a. Maintaining the excellent level of services in our city while keeping the ad
valorum the lowest in Volusia County .
Promoting and enticing new businesses into Debary to reduce the burden
on the residential property tax payers.
10b. I believe the cities and counties should have self sovereignty concerning our
local government taxes. The State can provide guidelines but each county and
municipal government should have the final decision.
11. I support some growth but careful planning and consideration is the key to
making the City prosper. The key is not to fall into the trap of development just for the sake of growth
12. We must maintain our excellent Police and Fire service for the safety and general welfare of the residents of Debary. We need to be very careful and considerate on how we spend the people’s tax dollar. The City Council should work as a team to accommodate the citizens and not let one’s personal agenda come before the peoples needs.
13. Even with the tough times that our economy is going through, we must maintain a robust reserve in our City’s finances so we are ready in case of an emergency. This sounds like a contradiction to what I was saying before, but this is where a team concept by the City Council comes into effect and scrutiny on our spending of the tax payers money
