Questions Asked of all candidates:

Name the two most important issues that you believe are of concern to your district and how would you address each?

  • Economy (Jobs) – Bringing jobs back to our community is one of the biggest issues I wish to address.  Proactively, as the need for jobs arrived, I actively assembled a job fair that attracted 500 to 700 people district wide.
  • Education (Funding) – Our children are the future, and that is why restoring the proper funding for education is one my most important goals.

What is your position on the State Legislature dictating local government taxation and revenue policy? Defend your position.

Having served in local government for the past 5 years, I understand that government works best at the local level.  It is the closest form government to people and it is where the rubber meets the road. The state should not mandate anything on local government without funding it first.

What legislation would you support to protect and sustain Florida’s clean fresh water?

Serving as Chairman of the East Volusia Regional water authority, I realize the importance of clean fresh water. For that reason, I will support any legislation that will protect our environment and keep our water clean and fresh.

Public education is a citizens right. How do you plan to redirect taxes to fully fund public education in Florida?

Public education is every citizen’s right and with the current status of our education budget; I would do everything in my power to restore the proper funding that would be available to our Florida education system.

Name a specific issue that we have not addressed that you feel is important to your constituents?

The availability of basic healthcare for all Florida citizens is an issue that we have not addressed that is extremely vital to my constituents.
