Elections Updates Volusia County Elections Office |
Municipal Elections were held September 13, 2011, in DeBary, Orange City, and Ponce Inlet, and will be held on November 8th in Lake Helen. As in the past, LWVVC sent questionnaires to the candidates, asking for their responses to some specific questions about issues of importance to their municipalities. All responses had to be returned no later than August 26th, with responses to be posted on August 30th. Below are links to the responses we received from candidates. Races for which there was only one candidate are not listed. Click on "Response" to see the answers to the questionnaires - not everyone sent a photograph, but for those who did, click on "Photo". Incumbents are noted with "(I)" by their names. There will be run-offs in the Orange City mayoral race and DeBary City Council Seat 4. Responses for active campaigns remain on the site. We thank all for their participation, and we hope that all citizens in these municipalities will study their candidates and vote. Please note that all responses are printed as received, with no editing by LWVVC.
